HUATULCO THROUGH TIME

 

During the 11th century, this place belonging to the territory of the Zapotecas used to be a passage between the territories of Saachila and Tehuantepec, but a short time later the Aztecs invaded it and renamed it: “Kwahtolco, whose meaning is “place where the tree is worshipped”. Later it was changed by Huatulco.

 

Huatulco is currently a world-class destination thanks to the fact that it is made up of large resorts, restaurants, shopping centers, golf courses, nightclubs, and discos, all distributed throughout its nine bays.

MANIALTEPEC’S LAGOON

 

Located 11 minutes from Park Royal Beach Huatulco. Here you can witness in the rainy season the bioluminescence caused by millions of microorganisms known as “dinoflagellates” that shine when they feel frightened, provoking a show full of light.

 

RAFTING

 

If you like strong emotions, head to the Copalita River, located 10 minutes from Park Royal Beach Huatulco, and experience a totally soaked day while you descend the four exciting rapids routes by canoe, kayak, or raft. It doesn’t matter if you are not an expert, there are guides on the site and some routes are perfect for beginners.

 

CHIPEHUA BEACH

 

This beach is Oaxaca’s one of the best-kept secrets, just two hours away from Park Royal Beach Huatulco. It is a paradise of golden sands and calm waters, ideal for the whole family. Visit it in high season, as you will find palapas service with food and beverage service.

The annual average temperature is 28ºC and from July to October, the maximum can reach 40ºC. Traveling in winter can be a great idea, as the water is a cool delight!
